Baccarat is one of the simplest casino games to understand — three bet types, and you're already playing like a pro.
If you're just getting started with Baccarat, stick to Banker or Player bets and avoid the Tie. The math consistently favours Banker — most experienced Filipino players at ftn881 use Banker as their base bet and occasionally add Player bets when they feel the shoe shifting.

Walk into any major casino in Manila, Cebu, or Clark and you'll see the Baccarat tables doing the most business. It's been that way for decades — Filipino casino-goers have always gravitated toward Baccarat, and for good reason. The game is simple to understand, the odds are among the best in any casino, and the pace is perfectly suited to the Filipino way of playing: social, exciting, and with clear outcomes every hand. At ftn881, we've taken everything that makes Baccarat great and brought it to your phone or laptop, any time of day, with real professional dealers running the action.
The live Baccarat experience at ftn881 is built around three things: quality, reliability, and fairness. Every table streams from a professional studio in HD, with sound that replicates the atmosphere of a real casino floor. Cards are dealt from a physical shoe by a trained dealer — there's no random number generator involved in card dealing, which is one reason why experienced Filipino players trust the ftn881 live casino over RNG-based digital versions. You can see every card, watch every shuffle, and follow the road maps that track recent results just like at a physical table.
If you've never played Baccarat before, the good news is that it's one of the easiest casino games to learn. Each round, two hands are dealt — the Player hand and the Banker hand. Your job is simply to bet on which hand will have a point value closer to 9, or whether both hands will tie. Face cards and tens count as zero, aces count as one, and all other cards count at face value. When the total exceeds 9, only the second digit counts — so a hand of 7 and 8 totals 15, which becomes 5 in Baccarat terms.
A "natural" occurs when the first two cards dealt to either hand total 8 or 9. In that case, no more cards are drawn and the hand closest to 9 wins. If neither hand has a natural, a third card may be drawn based on a fixed set of rules called the third-card rule — these rules are applied automatically by the dealer and don't require any decision from the player. This is part of what makes Baccarat so accessible: once you've placed your bet, all you have to do is watch and wait for the result.
Among the three betting options at the ftn881 Baccarat tables, the Banker bet consistently offers the best odds for the player. With a house edge of just 1.06% after accounting for the 5% commission on Banker wins, it's one of the lowest-edge bets in the entire casino. Statistically, the Banker hand wins slightly more often than the Player hand — roughly 45.86% of the time compared to 44.62% for Player — because of the way the third-card rules interact with the Banker's drawing rules.
Most experienced Filipino players at ftn881 make the Banker bet their default and only switch to Player when they're following a streak or following their road map analysis. It's not glamorous advice, but it's mathematically sound, and over hundreds of hands it makes a meaningful difference to your bottom line compared to betting randomly or always chasing the Tie.
If you've watched Filipino players at a real Baccarat table, you've probably seen them scribbling patterns on scorecards. Road map tracking is a beloved part of Baccarat culture in the Philippines — players record every result in various grid formats to identify streaks, "chops" (alternating results), and patterns they believe might predict future outcomes. The three most popular road maps are the Big Road, the Bead Plate, and the Big Eye Boy.
It's worth being honest here: no road map can actually predict the next result, because each hand in Baccarat is an independent event. The cards don't "remember" what happened previously. But road map tracking adds a layer of engagement and ritual to the game that many Filipino players genuinely enjoy — and at ftn881, all live tables display the standard road maps in real time, just as you'd see at a casino in Newport World Resorts or Solaire. Laro lang ang tawag dito, and the road maps are part of what makes it fun.
